Three Comments

A friend and I were walking side-by-side. Another friend, Rohit, came from ahead with an intention of bumping into the both of us. I moved aside to avoid him, but my friend went up to Rohit to push him out of the way. In the process, both the two started fighting with each other. I commented on what had just happened, "Look at the difference between me and Ashutosh (my friend), I moved aside to avoid Rohit while Ashutosh went to push him out of the way."
Hearing my words Rohit rudely said to Ashutosh, "See stupid, you should be more like your friend and not be such a dumb ass bumping into everyone."
I commented again on what had happened, "Look at the difference between me and Rohit, I tried to point a mistake out in a nice way, unlike Rohit who did so in quite an insulting way."
Hearing my words, Rohit sarcastically said to me, "Oh fine kind, humble one!"
I commented one more time on what had happened, "Look at the difference between Rohit and Ashutosh, Ashutosh quietly accepted his mistake, while Rohit denied his."
Hearing this, Rohit fell in the shame of wearing the devil's horn and I reckon I saw an angel's ring on Ashutosh's head.

There he was, right in front me looking into my eyes. He was so close, we could see each others' reflections in our pupils. Full Paper

Paper, the true base of all work and progress, of which without would be a deteriorated world, has contributed much more than much to our development. If you were to take this mighty invention and utilize it by writing on it completely from top to bottom, how much would you write? Most probably you would take the sheet and start writing from the top and end at the bottom. You would write on it until there was no more space to write on it. If I were to ask you then whether the sheet was completely full or not, what would you reply? You might say yes or you might say no. True it is, there is no more space to really write something meaningful on it. However if you look closer, you will realize there's actually a lot of space left on the page. Where is this empty, unoccupied space? Pretty obviously, anywhere you see white ~ between letters, inside their loops and even between words and lines. It occupies more space than the writing itself. Of course, it might not be possible to utilize this space but it is still there.
He who has a goal, knows the goal. He who doesn't have a goal, knows the field.

Football Field

He who has a goal, knows the goal. He who doesn't have a goal, knows the field. Having a goal in life is very important. If you want success, you need a goal. That's why life is at times compared to a game of football. You're trying to get the ball into the goal ~ that is your aim and that is your success. In order to do so, you move towards the goal and try to focus on it at most times. If someone was to come in between the you and goal, you would get to know right away as that 'someone' has come in the way of blocking your view of the goal. But what would happen if you had no particular goal in life? It would be like having no goalpost in football. If you have no goalpost, you have no particular place to kick your ball. Then where would you kick your ball? As the case may be, you'd kick the ball any where you'd like ~ of course if you kept it put, you'd eventually get bored and resort to kicking it around instead. You wouldn't have any thing in particular to focus on, so you'd be able to observe the field around you. As you'd be kicking the ball and going behind it, you'd get more and more familiar to the field until you'd know the field as well as the back of your hand. It is, though, certain that it would get quite boring just kicking the ball and chasing it practically nowhere.

Solving Problems

A shopkeeper was once too bothered by the problems of his life and decided to consult a wise old sage who lived in his village.
After telling him his problems, the sage asked, "Before you came to me, did you think over your problems at least once in an attempt to solve them?"
"Yes, I even tried to save time while trying to find their solutions"
"How did you try to save time?" asked the sage anticipating something wrong.
"By trying to find their solutions all at once." verbalized the shopkeeper.
"Hmm.... no wonder you came to me."
"What do you mean to say?" the keeper asked puzzled.
"If you try to solve all your problems at once, you'll never get their solutions."
"How come?"
"I'm sure you must've been to the weekly bazaars of other villages."
"Yes many times."
"Pretty noisy isn't it there?"
"Yes. At times, I can't  even here the person beside me."
"If you stand in the middle of the bazaar, and try to understand what the shopkeeper in front of you is saying, what the person beside you is saying, what the customer behind you is saying and all the other voices of the noisy crowd are saying, will you be able to do it?"
"Not even if I had a dozen ears!"
"It's the same case when it comes to solving problems, if you try to solve them all at once, you wouldn't be able to even if you had a dozen minds. Solving them takes time and of course effort."
The shopkeeper having realized his mistake, tried one more time to solve his problems, this time one-by-one.

Haunted House

Out of all the haunted houses man has made, there is one haunted house that haunts all the rest. It is so haunted, that most of all the people who have entered this haunted house, have never managed to come out of it. Not only is it the most haunted, but it is also the biggest. It is so massive, all the haunted homes smaller than it reside in it. Within this haunted feat of engineering, one may face the threats of the many avatars of death. Surviving this haunted house is not at all too easy. The only easy way to escape it, is to face death. It has been characterized by many elements, a list of which would literally go on forever. There are those constant fears of the ghosts of poverty, diseases, evil and harm, of robbers, recessions and enemies. It is said that the engineer who attempted the challenge of building such a haunted mansion, was the Almighty God. Have a happy stay in this haunted world of ours!

Punishments

When one does a wrong act, action is often taken against this act by authority to prevent it from happening it again. This action is known as a punishment. The nature of any punishment is more or less always the same ~ undesirable, making the person not like getting a punishment. Why do we have punishments? The purpose behind allotting a punishment is so that the wrong doer won't do the same mistake again. It is a thing which takes advantage of one's shortcomings and fears. Here's how it works. Once a punishment is allotted, a person is acquainted with the fact that if he does this certain wrong act, he will have to go through that certain punishment. He doesn't want to go through any punishment ~ his shortcoming or fear, so he decides not to do any wrong act to prevent himself from getting any punishment. This is a way of suppressing evil, not abolishing it. That's why it isn't always successful with every person. Some wrong doers may try to hide their actions so they won't get punished. That's the drawback of some ~ rather many ~ punishments. They might keep a person from doing wrong, but if they aren't proper, they might not teach the wrong a lesson or give a sign of guilt withing the wrong. If that doesn't happen, the person isn't bothered by his guilt and may hide his wrong act when he does it. For example, if one is at the thought of robbing someone, he will know that if he does so, he will get arrested. So he'll decide not to do so. But what would happen if another thought comes to his mind saying, 'I'll rob the person and not get caught so I won't have to get arrested.' It is seen here that even under the lid, evil strives to escape as invisible steam.

Punishments are a way of suppressing evil, but in order for them to work, their nature must be preserved. If such a punishment is allotted which isn't even undesirable, a person might not fear getting the punishment at all and keep doing wrong. For instance, if the punishment for murdering someone was to pay a $50 fine, we'd have murderers on the loose everywhere. However, if the punishment is too cruel, it will create fear and unnecessary punctuality among the public. Say there's a teacher in a class who sends students out if they ask silly irrelevant questions. Surely it will keep the students from asking silly questions, but it may also make some of the students not ask questions at all due to the fear of their teacher. This won't be too ideal, either. That's why it should be made sure that punishments are just as severe as the sins for which they were allotted.

A more effective punishment can be the punishment which is given to a culprit to get him a taste of his own evil. This type of punishment follows the 'tit for tat' rule. It is usually successful in teaching the wrong a lesson, but of course, it has to be implemented properly for it to work. Whether this punishment will work or not will also depend on what type of person you're dealing with. Once one realizes how it feels to be the victim of one's own wrong, one doesn't do the same mistake again. For some reason, a man throws a brick at his neighbor's window and brakes it. The neighbor goes to the police and complains. The police go to the man's house and throw a brick at his window braking it too. Once the man comes to know of this, a thought will come in his mind, "This damage is going to cost me a fortune to fix! Wait a min.... this is probably the same amount of damage my neighbor must have had to pay for. He must have had the same thought of how costly it'll be to fix a broken window. Hmmm.... I shouldn't do this again, considering how costly it is to pay for."

Realizing ones mistake is a kind of showing sympathy for others. However, being able to realize one's own mistake depends on one's level of ego. Ego acts like fog on a mirror. The more ego one has, the more fog there is on one's mirror, making it harder to see one's true self. Such punishments which make one realize one's own mistake are like defoggers which set aside the ego of a person, making him see his flaw in his reflection in the mirror.

Nuisance

Man found some living things to be quite a nuisance. He tried to avoid them, get rid of them, whatever he could do to make them not disturb his life. In the process he invented machines to kill such living beings. Man even created a livelihood dedicated to exterminating these pests. These machines are something we know of as vaporizer machines and the livelihood is better known as the exterminator.

The Third Idol

The idol I saw in the sky that day,
Clouds of orange trying to check the sun's way,
But nothing compared to the sun was their might,
For the sun was determined to awaken the night.
Florescent the clouds turned, the sun fulfilling his will,
The beautiful sky above them, a flawless blue fill.
A 'scribbled tornado' cloud displayed its valiance, to no avail,
For he could've been lifted away at the breeze of just a gale.
And all along was the moon in his back seat,
Witnessing the sun's victory, before his retreat.
Such was a painting of the Lord and his grace,
Too busy to see it was nearly every face.

Bumping

It has atleast occurred once to any given person. You're walking down the street and there's another person who's coming from the opposite direction. You decide to go from the person's left side and the person happens to decide to go from your right side. Then, just what you were trying to avoid, happens ~ you bump into the person. It's happened to pretty much everyone, and so has that embarrassment greeted the people to whom this has happened to. Sometimes it happens so that when you realize the two of you are on a crash course, you turn left, but unfortunately the other one also turns to your left and you bump into each other again. And then there are some people who decide to bump into each other a second time before proceeding further. What do you do in such a case? Some of us look at the person and his course well before the two of us are close. If the guy is more to our left, we turn to pass from the right and vice versa. Some of us may have some other ideology. But there is one idea that never fails. If someone is coming towards you, you just stay put where you are. The other one will pass you without even the slightest chance of bumping into you. Of course, this may only work if the one who is coming toward you has an intention of not bumping into you. Otherwise, you'll stay put and the other guy will go by with not too much of you left.
Your actions determine your luck. Your luck doesn't determine your actions.

Silent Disappointment

It was past 9 PM and I was walking home down the street. The sky was black but the streets were as yellow as ever, lit by the city lights. Suddenly I saw a flash in the sky. I looked towards the direction I had seen it. It was thunder and a sudden joy filled within me, anticipating a shower. Just then, I heard a loud noise. I saw colours coming out in a circular manner in the direction of the flash. The thunder I had reckoned, had turned into a firework. I felt a sudden inward frown fall within me. A frown, of silent disappointment.

Ghost or God?

You are alone at home, sitting on the couch lazily watching TV. Suddenly you hear the noise of a piano in the other room. You go to see what made the noise. There's not even a piano in the house to make such a noise. So you go to the window to check whether the noise came from outside or not. But the window turns out to be closed and the noise couldn't have been so loud if it had come through the closed window. A shiver runs down your spine, a shiver of fear. You are now certain that the noise came from a supernatural force. You conclude it to be a ghost. Wait a minute! Why do you conclude it to be a ghost? A supernatural being doesn't just only mean it was a ghost, it could also mean it was God. So why did you declare it to be a ghost over God?

Revenge

When one does something wrong to the other, the victim is often left in a state of anger. Out of this anger, he may take revenge on the wrong-doer to make him learn a lesson. But does taking revenge really make the wrong right? The truth is revenge and teaching the other a lesson are completely different things.

Revenge is an act done out of anger, as a way to satisfy it. When we are angry, we normally expect a shameful sorry from the wrong-doer. If we don't get that, we feel like being violent due to a sudden release of energy within. This energy is born out of anger and to let it go, we take revenge. Once one takes revenge, it doesn't make the wrong-doer learn a lesson. If you take revenge on someone, he is sure to realize you are doing wrong to him out of anger ~ normally when we take revenge, we do wrong to wrong following the ideology ~ 'doing wrong unto wrong is not wrong.' But as the wrong doer doesn't realize his own action as wrong, he just sees it as you doing wrong to him. Seeing this, he will get angry and take more revenge on you. Seeing revenge on revenge, you will feel like taking more revenge.... and the cycle keeps going on, creating enmity between the both of you and also a feeling of dissatisfaction because you couldn't take as much revenge as you wanted.

Anger is capable of paralyzing our ability to think, that's why the action of revenge takes place. Sometimes, while we are taking revenge, the wrong one realizes his or her mistake, and tries to apologize, but because of this state of anger we don't realize the apology and carry on taking revenge. Then the wrong one ~ who has apologized ~ will get angry seeing this 'revenge even after apologies' and take revenge on his behalf. Then because you are still angry, you will see this revenge as 'revenge on revenge,' and then get more angry and take more revenge, leading to another enmity-creating cycle. Phew! Revenge sure does cause a lot of problems. When you take revenge, you might find yourself in either one of three situations.

One is where the person you want to take revenge on is less powerful than you. This situation may seem to be to your advantage and you might take revenge easily by letting your anger controlling everything. Taking revenge in this situation does give satisfaction. This revenge might teach the wrong-one a lesson, as the wrong-one takes into consideration that you are more powerful (or of greater authority than him), that is unless he is more convinced that you yourself is the one who has done wrong.

The other situation is when the person you want to take revenge on is just as powerful as you. Taking revenge is not as easy and it might trigger a chain reaction. You may or may not feel satisfied by taking revenge as in this scenario, your anger meets a few limits.

The third situation is where the person you want to take revenge on is more powerful than you. You might feel helpless taking revenge on that person and it is sure to make things worse for you. Your anger in this situation is totally trapped within boundaries and is sure to lead you to dissatisfaction.

When you teach the wrong-doer a lesson, it can be done peacefully, or violently ~ of which doing it peacefully is more advisable. As one takes revenge, he might say that he's gonna punish the guy. The purpose behind punishing is to make the wrong get a taste of their own evil, so on tasting it, they won't do it again. But if you do this with even a pinch of anger, it can make matters worse. When you teach him a lesson, you do it with an intention that he will realize his mistake and with an expectation that he will probably say sorry ~ a shameful sorry . A by-product of that ~ if you do it properly ~ is that he won't do the same mistake again. It's surely better to teach the wrong-doer a lesson ~ an act done after thinking consciously ~ than taking revenge ~ an act done out of anger (unconsciously). Before doing anything of the such, it is necessary to think a bit before you react so as to make sure the wrong-one will learn a lesson, otherwise revenge and ignorance won't be too far away.

So what do you do when you want to take revenge? When you are real angry on someone ready to take merciless revenge, 'pause' yourself and think. What action has the other done that has made you angry? Then examine that action. Is it wrong? Has it been triggered by you? If yes, then you have yourself to blame and you should learn to not do such an action again in such a situation in the future. If no, then think of how you can make the the wrong-doer realize his mistake and make him not do it again.  There is one saying you can follow while making your plan, every person has a good side and a bad side. When someone does wrong, he does it out of the thought of his bad side. All you have to do is ignite his good side and let it manifest the bad one, making him regret his mistake. After you are sure your plan of teaching the other a lesson will work, implement it. If it doesn't work, learn from your failure and make a better plan. Remember, igniting something isn't just as easy as flicking the switch on the lighter, it has to be done manually by blowing very gently on the embers. Doing all this might take some time and of course self-control, but it is totally worth it rather than to take revenge.

The Trophy of Evolution

The trophy of evolution has been quite a deceiving achievement for man ~ a prize it was to be awarded to the winner of the race of evolution. Man with utter determination achieved this prize in an attempt to compete against all the other living organisms. It was a tough competition with the apes and orangutans, but he emerged victorious among them in the end. Though a great achievement, he was yet to realize what this prize really had in store for him. He evolved and advanced much faster than his opponents in the race, due to his prize. Invented the civilization did he, invented the currency did he. His ego presided among all the rest. He forgot his old ways of living with nature and started to progress against it. The most delicate of all he became as a result. Nature tried to fight back against this overpowering human race, but it proved to be no match to his machines of ever-strong alloys. He was attacked by famines, floods, hurricanes and earthquakes. Man succeeded in defending these forces and he even played offensive in the game. He cut down trees for his own benefit, let down things into rivers which made them dirty, he even started killing his own fellow opponents for their body parts. Doing all this he still hasn't realized the ill effect of his victory. Nature has already faced too much and from her behalf she will definitely succeed one day in suppressing his dominance and convincing him that his victory of the trophy was quite a bitter one.

Exams and Grades

It is hard to imagine a life without exams. We are so very accustomed to them that without them, this world just wouldn't work. What is an exam? I asked a few people, they said, "An exam is test with a bunch of questions that are asked for testing us and our knowledge of is being taught. Here's what the dictionary says;
'A set of questions, problems, or the like, used as a means of evaluating the abilities, aptitudes, skills, or performance of an individual or group.' Exams and tests are closely associated with marks and grades. You take the exam, you get marks or you get grades. Exams are pretty common in our life; from the time we learn the ABC's to the time we're in college and even many times after that. After about seven to eight years of age, we're pretty aware of what an exam is. But what about before that? I asked a five year old what an exam is. He replied he didn't know; of course it was obvious he knew what happens in an exam, but he couldn't describe. So I asked him in a different way, "What do you get from exams?"
He replied, "Marks."
I asked, "What do you get from marks?"
He said, "Stars." (His teacher gives students stars if they get good marks.)
I asked him, "What do you get from stars?"
"Mummy is happy of me," he said so innocently.
"What happens when mummy is happy?"
"I'm happy!" he said cheerfully.
When one hears the word exam, another thought comes in the mind ~ getting good marks. Why do you want good marks? A five year-old as seen, wanted good marks so that he could be happy. Is that the same case with us? It is observed that getting could marks leads to a more secure future, that's why we don't like getting less marks. It is also observed that many know this logic, but never realize it. But that's not always the case. I heard a girl saying, "I'm afraid to see my marks!" I asked her why.
She said, "If I get less marks, the teacher insults me."
It is true, there are many teachers out there who literally punish students if they don't get good marks, and then there are many others who don't get the difference between a punishment and an insult.
So I asked her, "If the teacher never insulted anyone, would you still be afraid of less marks?" She replied yes. I asked her why again. She said I don't know ~ which just meant 'less marks mean less secure future.'
It all comes down to the person who invented exams associated to marks and grades.

The Speed Limit

Each animal was given a speed limit by the Lord. If any of the animals were to exceed this speed limit, it would threaten their species and bring death to its individuals as often as the ocean tides. Man was the only animal who dared challenge this speed limit and created machines that would allow him to go faster, surpassing his speed limit. As the penalty for crossing the limit was already decided, man was jeopardized by car accidents, plane crashes, sinking ships and what not.

And is chanted by the waves of the sea.

The Hotel

There is a hotel. A hotel with an infinite star rating. It has many facilities. It has swimming pools, billiard tables, golf courses. It has Rolls Royce Phantoms for your transport in comfort, and even private jets to get you somewhere quick. Moreover, it is located in a peaceful place which provides happiness and peace like no other. A hotel where every single person has made a booking. Every live person. He or she may have booked their own room, but it is sure that no one alive has ever visited it. As observed by its many amenities, this hotel is very costly. Even the lifetime income of a billionaire could not buy the amenities of this grand hotel. Instead, it has to be paid with something much more precious and expensive ~ one's own life. The Plant in the Gutter

A man once discouraged by the difficulties he was facing in life went to a wise, old sage asking for a solution. To make him understand what he was about to say, he took him for a stride. Along their way they came across an open gutter, which was barely full of water. The sage stopped there and said, "Do you see that plant in the drain?"
"Amazing how that plant could manage to survive on such less water that too dirty water!" the man exclaimed.
"Indeed, yes," the sage replied, "Have you ever tried to grow a plant in a pot?"
"Yes," replied he.
"I'm sure you must have once accidentally withered it once."
"Yes, the first time I tried, I didn't know how to care for a plant and it accidentally withered."
"You can see if a plant in such a dirty surrounding with such little water can manage to find its way of life, then surely you can too find your way out of your difficulties."
"I see," the man said understanding what he had just said.
"It is very important that you see to it that you do not loose hope and do not give up. Tell me, had the plant lost hope, had it gave up would it have managed to live?"
"No."
"It is what you should do too never loose hope and never give up."
The man understood the sage's teaching. The sage gave the man some advice on how to solve his problems and the man then left with a satisfied mind and an inspirational awakening within him, all thanks to the wise sage and the little plant growing from in the gutter.

The Best Movie Ever

One of the best movies I have ever seen is the movie Life. It's a great movie. It fits in all genres, Comedy, Romance, Adventure, Drama, Thriller etc. Even though I haven't seen all of it yet, I've learned many things from the actors and actresses in the movie. It can be emotional at times, but that doesn't keep it from being entertaining. I really have to admit it, the director of this movie is truly the Almighty. I recommend that everyone sees this movie enjoys it and most importantly learns from it.
An accident is the mere consequence of a misjudgement.

Brain Over Brawn

There once was a man who went up to a door,
A body builder he was, buildin' it even more.
Though very strong, he was by mind very weak,
He failed to pull the door open, for help he had to seek.

There happened to be another man near by,
A well-read person, quite a smart guy.
The body builder he saw, for help who was in seek,
He went up to him, to help the mentally weak.

He read the sign written on the door,
"Please push, do not pull more."
The body builder's problem, an end it met.
As the man pushed the door open, without a sweat.

It is from this tale we come to see,
Brawn isn't everything, the brawny had to agree,
The brain should be trained, rightly not wrong.
To be as the brawny's muscle, just as strong.
*Science express, coming back from Khadki*
A man was once annoyed by the nuisances and difficulties in his life. He went to a wise old sage seeking for help. As he went, a question occurred in his mind and he decided to ask the sage on reaching him.
"Why do we have negativism in our lives? Why can't we just have a life full of good, pleasurable things with no such things like bad and evil?" the man asked the question that had occurred to him.
The sage replied, "Bring me two apples, one nice and ripe and the other nearly rotten."
The man did as he was told and came back a few minutes later with two such apples.
"Look at the two apples," verbalized the sage, "Which one would you prefer to eat?"
"It's obvious, anyone would pick the good, ripe one over the bad rotten one," the man replied.
"Just now, you compared the two apples and labelled them, one good, the other bad."
"Yes."
"But what if there was no rotten apple? You wouldn't have had anything to compare the good apple to, and if you couldn't have compared it, you wouldn't have labelled it to be 'good' either."
"So do you mean to say, if there is no bad, there won't be good either?"
"Exactly so," replied the sage.
"But still, it would have been better to have good nor bad than to have bad."
"When you were a little boy, you must have had a top." the sage said with assurance.
"Yes, I loved playing with them." The man smiled, remembering his childhood memories.
"I'm sure you must have had one you could spin using a thread and another you could spin with your hand."
"Yes"
"Which one did you like the most?" asked the sage.
"The top with the thread used to spin longer, and faster, than the hand-top, but spinning the hand-top was more fun and that's why I liked it more."
"You see, even though the thread-top had better qualities than the hand-top, you liked the hand top because it was more fun controlling it."
"Yeah, the thread top did get boring once in a while."
"That's exactly how the world works, we have negativism because otherwise everything would have been boring, like the thread-top. If there was no such thing as bad, nothing much interesting would have happened. You must be knowing the story of Ramayan."
"Oh yes. It is one of my favourite epics."
"Now if there was no bad, Ravan would never have abducted Sita, and the story wouldn't have ever taken place."
"Hmmmm....."
"Read today's newspaper, everything written in it can be written because this world is imperfect, having negativism. Of course, too much negativism can seldom be undesirable, but it is surely better than having a boredom."
"I see....." the man replied, thinking about what he had just understood.
The sage then gave the man a few hints on how to solve his problems, and the man left with a satisfying answer.

A Show of Laziness

Fifteen people were circling a rectangular playground, walking on the jogging track. They were told to complete 45 rounds before they would be able to go. They start off on the jogging track, walking right on top of it. After the first 10 rounds or so, their course began to change. They started cutting corners of the jogging track decreasing the distance they walked in each round. Eventually this went on happening until their course didn't even have a radius more than 20 feet. After completing these 'small' rounds they were allowed to go, as it was promised. Their leave after an hour of exercise left behind a clear demonstration of what laziness can do.

'Burnt'

If you tell a little 4 year-old not to play with fire, you'll probably tell him, "You'll get burnt if you keep playing with fire." The child might innocently ask what 'burnt' means. You might try to explain to him what it means by saying, "If you get burnt it will hurt and you might get a mark on your skin," or something of the such. In other words you try to teach him what 'burnt' means using words. The child might get the point that getting 'burnt' isn't good. But he still might not completely understand what it's really like. Unless and until he experiences what getting 'burnt' is, he'll never know what it is. Once he does, it won't be wrong to say that he's learned from his experience and not from your words.

A little boy asked his teacher, "Is knowledge a countable noun?"

"Then why do we count it in marks and grades?" he asked innocently.
The teacher went speechless.
*while writing A Weird School*
Where there came laziness, there came a need. Where there came a need, there came an invention. A good example wood be that of a gun. Man found it too hard and tiring, to kill someone with a bow and arrow, so he invented the gun. Now with the flick of a trigger, man can kill without a sweat.

A Weird School

"If you were to tell a small boy to not play with fire, how would you tell him?" A guru asked his students.
One of the students replied, "I'll tell him that he might get burnt if he does."
"That is one good way of telling him. But if I were to tell him to not play with fire because I'll punish him if he does, do you think he'll listen?"
The students nodded no.
"Right you are. He might listen to you, but one day or the other, he might play with fire, when ever you might turn your back. Now, I once asked a school-going boy why he shouldn't talk while the teacher is teaching. What do you think he replied?"
"He must've replied so that I don't miss out on what the teacher is teaching." replied a student.
"No, he didn't say that."
"Then did he say, so that I can be a role model for other students?" replied a student with curiosity.
"No.... he didn't say that either."
"What did he say then?" asked another student.
"He said, so that I don't get punished."
The students giggled a bit.
"What a weird student!" exclaimed a student, while giggling.
"Not only him, I asked many students, they all said the same thing, so I don't get punished." the guru said.
The students were a bit surprised. How could so many students be so weird, they thought.
"What makes all of them think in such a way? I mean, if you had asked us the same question, we would have replied, so that we don't miss what your teaching us." one of the students asked.
"Because of the teachers. Whenever they spot someone in the class talking, instead of saying, Don't talk or else you'll miss what I'm teaching. they say, If you talk one more time, I will send you out of the class."
The students laughed at the guru's imitation of a school teacher.
"Should a student ever be afraid of his teacher?" asked the guru.
The students replied in a chorus answer, "No."
"If a student is afraid of his teacher," one student began to say, "He'll never learn properly. If he has a doubt to ask, his fear of the teacher might prevent him from asking the teacher at all."
"Right indeed. There are even many school-teachers who say, If you get bad marks and grades in exams, I will punish you. It's because of this 'or else I will punish you' attitude of the teachers, students become afraid of the teachers, thinking she's someone who punishes frequently."
"You mean school-students are afraid of their teachers?" a student asked a bit surprisingly.
"Yes," replied the guru.
"What are marks and grades? Well, I do have a fair idea about what it means, but could you please tell me its word-to-word meaning?"
"Marks are basically numbers and grades are basically letters."
"What are they used to count?" the student curiously asked.
"You could say they count knowledge."
"So you mean to say marks and grades are used to count knowledge?" interrogated the student.
"Yes my dear." the guru answered.
"But I thought 'knowledge' was something you can't count."
"You're right, indeed it is something you can't count, but these people have got it all wrong." verbalized the guru.
"I'd never want to go to school!" asserted a student.
"You'd be surprised, that's exactly what many school-going children think. Many of them don't like learning either, they say they find it boring."
"Boring! Learning is so fun! Especially when we have such a great guru to teach us!"
The guru smiled and blessed the student, "Bless you my child."
"Why do students find learning boring?" another student asked.
"It's either the teachers who make it that way or the students who just hate it so much."
"School is such a weird place to learn," a student said, thinking about the weird ways of school.
"Yes my dear student, I'm afraid it is." the guru declared and concluded the conversation

A Great Recovery

There once lived a middle class man. He worked in a factory on the outskirts of his village. He got a fair pay, but the conditions in the factory were terrible. It was a damp, suffocating job to work in a factory. And on top of that, he had to stay in there for hours together. Because of the terribly managed factory, many workers would fall ill one day or the other. One such day occurred to this man. He fell ill. He thought he would feel better after a day, but it didn't occur so. The intensity of his illness just increased day by day. By the fourth he had had enough, he told his family to call the wise old sage who lived in the village. The sage visited his home in the evening, when he was asleep. He checked the patient, and then told the family some treatment. The next morning, the man woke up to the sound of laughter. He called over his son and asked him what the laughter was all about. His son replied that mother had brought a joke book, and was reading it. Every now and then she would come across a great joke and would laugh and seeing her laugh the others would also laugh. The rest of the day went quite jocund. Everyone was smiling as if they had been visited by a joker, and they talked with a positive conduct for the whole day. At one point in the day, the man's daughter accidentally knocked over a dish braking it into several pieces. The mother looked as if she was about to scold her daughter, but out of nowhere, started laughing. The day came to an end, and the next morning the man woke up feeling all better. He was surprised how fast he had recovered after the sage's treatment. Out of curiosity, he went to the sage and asked him what medicine he had given him to make him recover. The sage replied to his question, "I didn't give you any medicine."
The man was surprised, "Then what did you give?"
"You might have noticed your previous day went quite differently."
"Well.... yes. It did go a bit different, everyone at my home was laughing and smiling, they seemed to be in quite a happy mood." the man replied, wondering how the sage must've known about his different day.
"Exactly. That was my treatment. I had told your family to be in a happy, jocund mood for the day. Their positive mood, encouraged your body to recover faster. If you had stayed in a negative mood because of your illness, your family would have too, which would have not made you recover at all."
The man was very thankful to the sage, not only had he cured him, but he had also demonstrated the power of positivity.

An A+

A teacher was once explaining a few things that were going to come in the upcoming unit test. Just as she was, she overheard a student say, "Why do we always have to work to get something? I wish we could get anything in this world without working." She went up to the student and told him that he wouldn't be happy if he achieved something without working hard for it. The student disagreed. The following unit test, the teacher spoke to that same student and told him to not give the test. The student was puzzled. "Why would a teacher ask him to not give a test?" he thought. He had to say yes, cause it would be wrong to say no to a teacher. The test was over by the end of the day and the result of it would be given the next week. On the day of the result, he had a glance at his report card.... and was surprised when he saw an A+ written in bold letters without even giving the test. He was happily surprised, but for some reason, his happiness was incomplete and tasted a bit sour. There was something in his mind that bothered him. He was deep in his thought when the teacher came and sat next to him. She said, "See how you feel? You're not really happy with what you got, right? You see, there's no substitute to hard work. The harder you work, the more happier you'll be when you achieve something. If you don't work at all, you might end up feeling like you are right now ~ like you don't deserve the grade and anyways, if there was a substitute to a hard work you probably would've been feeling happy right now." The teacher's words somehow made sense to him, and from that day onwards, he got an A+ in almost every test he gave, not by any substitute but by pure hard work.

The First Idol

The idol I saw in the sky that day,
A long wisp of white with not a tone of grey.
A seamlessly coloured rainbow made its way through the white,
Emphasizing its beauty, majesty and sight.
A long river of white in a land so blue,
Left but meandered thy grace through.
A pleasure it was to stand there and see,
A never-ending show hosted by thee.
The idol I meant when I saw it then,
Was a painting of the Lord, being painted once again.

Muting a class

A teacher was once teaching a class. She was a new teacher, and the students weren't really co-operating with her. The moment she would stop speaking, the students would start talking and make a commotion. Some of the students even shouted on purpose. The teacher tolerated the noise to some extent, but then the class just went out of control. The teacher tried to get the students to keep quiet, but to no avail. She yelled "Please keep quiet!" many times, but it went unnoticed. At last when she couldn't find a better way to get her students quiet, she said, "Sex!" just loud enough for the first bench to hear her, but surprisingly it seemed to have an effect on everyone. The whole class went dead-silent hearing the unexpected word. "Okay, so now that I have all your attention and silence let's continue from where we left off." And with that, she continued teaching the class without any disturbance.

How big is the Earth?

A Guru once asked his students, "How big is the Earth?"
The students thought for a while.
After sometime, one student said, "The Earth is about 6,000 km across."
"I asked how big the Earth is, not its diameter." said the Guru.
Another student jumped up and said its about 3,000 km across.
"I can say the same again, I asked how big the Earth is, not its diameter or radius or anything such."
Another student then said, "Its a bit bigger than Venus."
"How big is that?" the Guru reflected the student's question.
The Student couldn't say much. The Guru gave the students a day or two to think.
Two days later the students came back still with a blank mind. The Guru said he'd give the students a hint.
"If I gave you just a slice of a mango, would you be able to get an idea of how big the whole mango is?"
The student replied in a chorus, "Yes."
"Then do the same with the question."
The guru gave the students another three days to think.
Within those three days he got all sorts of answers, but none of them were correct.
Some said, that the Earth is as big as God's Palm, some said it was as big as it is, they said anything and everything they could think of. Finally on the fourth day the Guru decided to tell ~ rather show ~ them the answer. As the students were curiously waiting for the answer, the Guru started to tell them probably the most unexpected yet true answer.
"Children, look at the sky. Look how nicely you can see those scattered high altitude clouds against the blue background. Now, lie down on the ground and picture the sky upside down. Observe the curvature of the sky or should I say, the curvature of the Earth, notice how grand and massive it is.
The students did as they were told.
"Now tell me, how big is the Earth?"
One of the students said amused, "It's.... It's HUGE!"
Just the answer the Guru was expecting.

The Child's Question

Once while studying, a child asked his brother why he should study sincerely.
His brother replied, "You should study sincerely so that you do well in exams."
His brother's answer made no sense to the child, "Then why should I do well in exams?" he thought, but he didn't say much and went back to his studies.
At school he asked his teacher, "Why should I study sincerely?"
His teacher replied, "So that you get a good career."
The child wasn't satisfied with the answer he had got.
He he asked his father, "Why should I do well in exams?"
His Father replied, "So that you get a good career."
"The same old answer!" he thought. "Then why should I get a good career?" he asked in more curiosity.
"If you get a good career, you will get a good amount of money, then you'll be happy."
His father's answer confused him, he thought, "I like watching clouds ~ that makes me happy. Then why should I study, do well in exams, get a good career and then be happy? Its easier to watch clouds and be happy rather than do all that and then be happy."
That following summer, he went to his small native village. There he saw a Guru teaching children.
He asked that Guru, "Why should I study sincerely?"
The Guru replied, "You should study sincerely to get more knowledge. Acquiring good knowledge will get you closer to removing the blindfold on your eyes, which has been tied to each and every one of us, which will enable you to see life more clearly and live it to the fullest."
The child may not have understood the true meaning behind the Guru's words, but he was surely satisfied with the answer he had received. The impact of the answer grew, just as his age did.

The boy's wish

A young boy was once granted a wish by a wise old sage. The boy said he wanted some more time to think and said he'll ask for a wish the next day. The following day he came to the same tree where the sage was the previous day and waited till the sage opened his eyes. The sage, without opening his eyes, told the boy to tell him his wish. The boy had one last thought on what he was going to wish for and he then said, "I'd like to be my best friend for a day. I'd like to see my own self with someone else's eyes. Sometimes you just can't see your own faults with your own eyes, and for that reason I'd like to see myself once through the eyes of my friend because he's the only one who's mostly always with me." The sage, expecting a less humble answer, was a bit surprised by the boy. He gave a the boy a magic mantra fulfilling the his request.

The Family of Shadows

Welcome to the House of shadows. Here resides the well-known Family of Shadows. There's Father and Mother Suffering. Their three daughters Desire, Pleasure and Passion and their three troublesome sons Disease, Death and Deceit. As beautiful the three sisters may be, inside they are the true silent and unseen cause for human suffering. Desire leaves you craving for more, upsetting you if your desire is not fulfilled. After desire is through with you, from behind her come Pleasure, who discriminates between what you like and what you don't, leaving you in misery when you are not in a state of being pleased. From Passion you get on the bright side, love, but also hate is seen in her shadows. The three sons are quite a troublesome threesome. There's no escaping them, even if you make it past Deceit, it'll unfortunately be impossible to get passed Disease and Death.
*the prince who became a beggar*
A wise old sage once said, "One of the many unknown mistakes man has made, is count knowledge in marks and grades, then discriminate between those who get good marks and those who don't."

Immediate Response

The human mind is programmed in such a way that it just cannot lie to itself. When you're all alone, try asking yourself something. Say you ask yourself, 'Who is my best friend?' The first person that comes to your mind after you ask the question, (or sometimes even before you ask it) will be the answer ~ whether you like it or not. Deny the answer as much as you want, but deep inside the truth will silently haunt you unless and until you accept it. This ability of the brain can be quite useful, but it's up to you to decide where to use it. Another interesting thing about the mind is that if you're going to do something, you start hearing things in your head. Well, not literally but something in your mind might starts telling you that what you're about to do is right or wrong. You've been on the computer for over 3 hours, and something in your mind keeps telling you to get off. Your in the kitchen trying a new recipe for the first time, and after you add that flour in the mixture, you start getting a feeling that you were supposed to put some water in first. It's pretty great isn't it? Well that's because it's said ~ and believed ~ that this 'voice' you hear is the voice of God telling you the right thing to do. After all, God is the divine power within us.
The punishment any sinner deserves the most is that of being arrested by guilt

True Happiness

A wise sage once asked a rich man, "Why should you work?"
The rich man replied, "To progress"
"Why do you want to progress?" asked the sage.
"To get more money."
"Why do you want money?"
"To live a happy life."
"So does that mean money can buy you happiness?" the sage asked.
"Well, yes, it does."
The sage gave an inward frown and left. Later he met a middle class man, he asked him too, " Why should you work?"
"To get money," replied the middle class man.
Expecting the more direct answer, the sage asked, "Why do you want money?"
"So that I can fulfill my basic needs and have a happy life."
"So does money buy you happiness?"
"Hmmm.... I guess it does."
The sage was disturbed with the man's last answer. He proceeded further. The sage later came across a poor mill worker. He asked him the same too, "Why should you work?"
The mill worker replied, "To get money."
"Why do you want money?"
"To fulfill my family's basic needs."
"That's it? You don't want money to be happy?"
"Money doesn't buy me happiness. Having people who love me and who I love does. And fulfilling their needs is my happiness."
The sage felt satisfied with the mill worker's answer. He replied, "You are indeed a noble fellow. Love is an eternal creation of god, and provides happiness like no other. May God bless you." He blessed the man and left.

Happy Rock

As stupid as it may sound, a rock is always happier than any given person at any given moment. It never dies, so it won't be afraid of death. It's certainly not afraid of spiders or any other fears. It never falls sick, so it won't have to worry about germs, or suffer due to illness. A rock doesn't have any needs or wants. So if any of them aren't fulfilled, they don't have to be deprived of it cause they don't even have any wants or needs. So if there's nothing that makes a rock sad or suffer, what could a rock possibly be other than happy?
Achieving something that was your idea, gives joy like no other.

Mother Invention

Out of all the inventions man has made, one of them predominates all the rest. It is such a versatile invention, it just can't be compared to any of the others. It can be a unit through which you can judge how much one works. It has the ability to tell you how much an object is worth. It has even created a language, in which the customer can easily understand the seller. It has been a gift given to dear ones. It has even served as a token of gratitude towards the helpful, or as a helping hand towards the needy. It has been known by many many names, dollars in one land, rupees in another. As great as any invention may be, any invention always has a drawback or two. This mighty invention has become so powerful, its shortage of which may bring a wealthy man residing in a posh mansion to the poverty-stricken streets of the poorest of villages. It has earned so much prestige that it has been compared with the ever-eternal element of time and has even put a price tag on knowledge. It has been proven that people are the most possessive when it comes to this invention. It has caused so many problems and issues of national threat, giving corruption its bad name. It is the reason to social apartheid between the rich and the poor, and also the reason due to which one might see beggars on the road. Because of this invention, we have got superpowers in this world. It has caused exploitation of not only land, but also us people. This invention not only is a want, but now it is a need. What a mighty yet evil invention man has made. The mother of all inventions this invention is, the invention of money.
Man has converted three basic needs ~ food, clothes, shelter ~ into one ~ money.

Learning Things

Ages ago man found it interesting to learn things,
As his curiosity enabled knowledge,
He learned a lot, up to his brain's edge.

Centuries ago man found the need to teach basic things,
To those who were young and yet immature,
To make a life easier for them,
It's why going to school, became a nature.

Years ago man found the absolute need to learn many things,
Taking up the first 20 years of the young in doing so,
He started counting knowledge in 'marks' and 'grades,'
It's how the education system today teaches the many things.

सिंहगड

मराठे औरंगजेब से सिंहगड छुपा न पाएँ,

आज भी वह खेल चल रहा है स्वर्ग से,
छुप रहा है सिंहगड मेघो-बदलो में ।

Unique Smile

Our car stopped at a signal light on the road. An old man beside our car was begging for money. I couldn't say he was a beggar, he was one of those who served God as well as begged for money. They used to be the most respected class in ancient times, but somewhere along the line money came to be invented and it overthrew such poor people, forcing them to beg. He came by our car. We had some loose change in our car. Without asking anyone, my little brother who's not even six, stretched his hand to give the few coins but being small, his hand didn't reach out of the window. He tried harder to 'stretch' his hand out until he finally managed to give him the change. The old man took the change and bringing it near his forehead thanked God for the token. The old man resembled a smile like no other, seeing such a small boy offering a big hand of help.... a smile I'll never forget.

A Dream Gone Wrong

"Hey you! Yes you! Get up!!!! Get up and jump off that cliff!" the teacher said to me pointing to the bottomless cliff below. I gulped as I hesitated to get to my feet.
"You dumb ass! Oh what am I thinking? How can I ever expect an ass like you to do such hard homework? Now just get up and jump!" the insane person, who was now a monster, screamed at the top of her lungs (if it even had lungs).
I slowly started to walk towards the edge of the cliff, which was this scary purple in color. I took one look into the pit, surely it was bottomless. I glanced at the teacher once again, to check for any signs of mercy, but I remembered a rumor I had heard from a classmate saying teachers are trained not to show mercy on anyone who disobeys rules. I took one last look at the class bench I was sitting on, which was now almost invisible, and took a step into the bottomless cliff.
Thump! I landed face down on the floor. It turns out that the cliff turned into my bed.
It just really bothers me when the same old grouchy teacher from a movie somehow manages to get into my dream.
A big sorry to any teachers, who might be reading this. But, a dream is something you sadly can't control, especially if it ends up landing face down.

Caged Birds

Anger is like birds in a cage. You can't keep them locked up in a cage for later. They just have to be released. And even if they are kept inside, their urge to come out becomes stronger and stronger until they just burst open the cage hurting themselves, causing destruction to the cage and the ones around.

If you double the vowel in the word 'God' it becomes 'Good' ~ one of the many unseen things when it comes to the miracles of God.

Bananas

One is judged by one's good or bad qualities, depending on how many good ones one may have, and also the bad ones. It may be common sense that a person with more good qualities would be a better person to be with. In order to be such good company, the person needs one chance to show his good qualities. But what if he isn't judged by his good qualities, but by his bad ones? It's what some and many people do, even if he or she has more good qualities than bad, they just get labelled by their few bad ones. If you take a banana, and it turns out that it has a black spot on it, you'd probably refuse to eat it. But look at the black spot, its tiny compared to the whole yellow banana. It's what happens when someone is judged, they see the other's bad quality ~ the black spot ~ and just judge them off without even looking at the good stuff ~ the yellow. Not quite fair is it?, for us people and the poor uneaten banana.
How you react to a situation depends on how seriously you take it.

He is The One....

He is the one who is the creator of all.
Yet He is the one who inhabits the power to destroy all.
He is the one who exhibits optimism.
Through many religions we see him, causing racism.
He is the one who is the symbol of hope.
He is the one whom with we will always cope.
He is the one whom without is a world we don't know.
For He is the Almighty one who makes us feel good, better and so,
The Immortal God, To thee we shalt forever bow low.

Unexplained

Man ~ the curious animal ~ has been finding the explanation of everything since his very existence. He has explained what lies beneath his very own feet, he has explained what those twinkling dots in the sky are, he has even found and explained about life before birth. But there are somethings he just failed to explain, he tried hard and harder to find the answer, but he just couldn't. So to keep himself satisfied he just had to do something. He came up with a solution, without having to find some more, he associated those particular unexplainable things with the Almighty King of All Unexplained Things, God. For God was also, one of the many unexplained things.

Having pride isn't hard, managing it may be, one should always know the appropriate timing to exhibit one's pride and one should also know the appropriate timing to conceal it.

First Teacher

The first man was quite an uneducated fellow. There was no concept of school, due to which there were no teachers to learn from. As a result, man was but acquainted with knowledge. He went on wandering, but with no knowledge, that mustn't have been much fun. How did he learn? How did he evolve? The Almighty God had already been ready with a solution. He had arranged for the greatest teacher of all. Man then started learning from that teacher. He learned many things from that teacher. He then thought, why don't I teach the others what I have learned from my teacher? This thought didn't remain one for long, he then started teaching others what he had grasped, becoming a teacher himself. Many others learned from him, and became educated, so that they could have better lives than he did. While many followed what he taught, there were some who challenged what they heard. They went out to prove, that what man was teaching was wrong, but to no avail. They were finally taught, taught by the first teacher God had sent. To this day, many are taught by the first teacher, but from there it is their choice to grasp what she has said through her ever clear words, or to let it go unsaid. This teacher is immortal, and will stay that way for as long time may ripple in its stream. The name of this teacher is Experience.

Windows

Whenever you meet a person, you can never be too sure about what kind of a person the other guy could be. It's as if his first impression on you is what you see of the other person through a window. Whenever I look through my front window, what do I see? I see the door and the two windows of the house in front of me. But When I go outside and look, I can see the whole house. If I was to describe what I was seeing through the window, I would only be describing a part of the scene ~ the door and two windows. But if I was to go outside or look through a bigger window, I would be able perceive more and therefore describe more. That's exactly what happens, when you go out describing someone, you describe what you see through the 'window' around the person and that's also the case when another says something about you, what he describes is his what he sees of you through the window around you, so its pretty likely he might be missing something from view. I guess that's why they say its always best to not pay much attention to what others think of you, cause after all, you know your house better than your neighbors can see it from their window.

Finding out a way to make money without doing any work as hopeless as finding out a way to grow a tree without planting the seed first.

Expect Less, Get More

The excitement before going to a trip is quite a unique excitement. Just 2 days later, you'll be in a foreign area, away from home, touring around. When it comes to excitement, expectations come too. Going to Paris? You might be expecting to see the Eiffel Tower, from your suite window. But then you get there and get a room without any view. It'll most probably disappoint you, won't it? A disappointment is what happens when you get less then what you had expected. It might have happened to you when you order a pizza on the phone, but when he brings it to your doorstep, the pizza guy leaves you wondering if this was what you really ordered. Yet another disappointment dealt with. After I had expected too much from a trip, I came back home not too pleased with my vacation. So I assured myself next time I won't expect anything great from a trip, so I'd end up surprising myself. And that's exactly what happened. I came back surprised with a mind full of great memories! It's what any experience would tell you, Expect less, Get more.
The true value of a person is only realized in his absence.
माणसाचे खरे गुण त्याच्या गैरहजेरीतूनच दिसून येतात.

Some people keep some time aside for keeping up with their hobbies, and study the other times.
Some others keep some time aside for their studies and keep up with their hobbies when they aren't studying.... I wonder which one is more affective.

That moment when the grouchiest person you know, smiles.

The Creature that did it all....

There was once a time when homes came without keys,
You didn't have to worry, about who would steal your bike,
There were no security guards who demanded fees,
Cause there was no thief, ~ a fact to everyone's like,

But an unfortunate day just had to come,
Of which no one remembers ~ smart or dumb,
When Pandora's box was opened some say,
Which let out that hidden creature, waiting for his prey,

The creature that did it all they say,
He was the one who downed the economy even may,
It was because of him we had to invent a lock,
Not just for doors, but even a cage for a hawk,

It was because of him we have to spend more money,
To keep that creature from our prized money,
He was the cause of the founding of many insurance companies,
Yet he was also the cause of the downfalls of many more companies,

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
It was because of him, he had a great fall,
Who was this creature? What was his name?
What did he have that even worried the main?

The thief  he was, the thief that did it all
The-first-thief-ever was his name
He wasn't advertised, nor did he have any fame,
But it was because of him the world came to a fall.
The flip side of a beautiful mountain often as a harsh desert behind it.

Life is a Highway

Life is a Highway,
Where the road you've already passed is your past
Where the road you're on right now is your present,
Where the road you are yet to travel on is your future,

Life is a highway,
Where some roads are pretty straight and easy to drive through,
Where many others may have a few turns,
Where there are plenty with sudden sharp curves,

Life is a highway,
Where many roads are as smooth as tiles,
Where some roads may have a few potholes here and there,
Where there are still some which don't even have pavement,

Life is a highway,
Where you can annoy the person in front of you by sounding your horn,
Where you can go with the other traffic and follow the rules,
Where you can pay for the car behind you at the toll station as a good deed,

Life is a highway,
Where the road never seems to end,
Where your destination could be miles away,
Where getting there could be one long drive,

Life is a highway,

Where while getting to your destination, you could focus on reaching there,
Where instead you could enjoy the view along the way,
Where cause if you do, your destination will reach you, before you reach it.
