Missing Smiles
The circus is always a place you can find some entertainment for the evening. That circus music in the air, a popcorn bag in your hand, and some acrobats in front of performing some entertaining stunts. Our entertainment lies solely in the hands of the entertainers, and you have to admit they do it quite well. It was just yesterday that I went to a local circus, and although the show was marvelous, there was something that I noticed missing. It was just a mere smile what I was looking for. There were some performances where
there wasn't even the slightest smile on the entertainers' faces. Not being such a coincidence those were the performances which I paid the least attention to. But when there were those performances which resembled big smiles on the entertainers they just had a great feeling in them, which made it more fun to watch.
At the end of a nice day, I came to know that it was the birthday of an acquaintance of mine. So later when time permitted me to do so, I went up to greet her, saying "Happy Birthday!" She didn't reply saying anything, nor did she thank me. But after that incident, the rest of my day went great! So what magic did she put on me? Nothing much really, she just smiled. I can still remember that warm smile, not only did it "make" my day but it also made me notice she had never looked prettier than when she had smiled. All this comes to a simple conclusion.... A circus is just a boring show without smiles on the entertainers' faces. And also another one for any of those girls who try to look their best.... A frown can make even the most prettiest girl look ugly.

Broken Glass
While a boy was playing with a glass, he accidentally pushed it off the table and broke it. His mother was sitting close by. As her view of the glass was obstructed by a wall, she saw the shadow of the glass fall and rushed hurriedly to the scene. Without taking another glance at the fallen glass, she immediately started scolding the boy. The boy listened to what his mother was saying and just before the situation became critical, he started to giggle. His mother, annoyed with the giggling, asked him angrily why he was giggling. The boy looked at his mother, and then looked at the broken glass. It was then that the mother realized that it was not the boy, but herself who was at fault. The glass was made out of toy building blocks and not real glass. The mother showed a chuckling smile on her face and went back to her work.
We sometimes start to take action in a situation before we even take a clear look at it, like the mother only saw the shadow and scolded the boy. In the situation this can lead to a misunderstanding. We would then try to get it clear, but after such a misunderstanding we start to wish we could have undone the wrongly done knot, and undoing a knot is never too easy. The boy and the mother may have just walked away with just a chuckle and giggle on their face, but it isn't always that easy in every case.

When the mind is held high....
When the mind is held high,
Seeking the goal ahead,
It is surely in search of success,
And some daily butter and bread.
Once the goal is in sight,
Your bound to kick the ball,
To achieve the goal with delight,
And just miss the defenders' fall.
The goal has just been touched,
The prize has been retrieved,
The success you had seen,
Has just been achieved.
When the mind is held high,
It shows our pride,
Whether we've sought the the goal yet,
Or it's right beside.

What the Sun said to Mercury
As the sun looked back at the solar system, he saw all the 8 planets well lit by his sun rays. He said to his friend Mercury close by, "What a marvelous sight this is! Every planet is nice and happy, not being haunted by any dark shadows that may bring misery to their well being." Mercury replied, "I'm happy to see that you are able to judge the happiness of all these planets. But, there is one thing you may not see, and will probably never see, the planets' shadows. All the planets have shadows, even me. You have influenced us by your rays, but these rays can only illuminate some of the shadow, that is the part which you can see, But there is always the dark side of the planet which is not influenced by your rays, which you can't see."
All of us have problems. We all help each other to get rid of our problems, influence them just like the sun does with his rays. We can deal with others problems only if we can see them. But, we can't see some of the others' problems, just like the sun couldn't see the shadows. That is where we get deceived, our friend might be looking as happy as ever, but inside he might be hiding something he knows you won't understand. Even if he tried hard explaining to you the problem, you might not get at all what he's trying to say. It would be like the sun is trying to see the shadow of Earth, no matter how hard he tries, he just can't. That is where the Earth is left with another choice, if his dear friend the sun can't help him, he could go to any of the many other stars in the galaxy, which might be able to illuminate just what the sun couldn't.

Living Vs. Survivng
As any other animal, man also survives to live. The animal may get its food by hunting it, while the man will buy it from the local grocery store. The animal may live out in the open, as man will continue to sleep in a cozy home. And at times, the animal may roam around in search of new habitat just so, man will move from city to city. The animal may not find it as easy to survive, but on the other hand, man might not even call this 'survival' survival at all. We have all given survival a nearly synonymous word.... "life." You might be wondering, what the hell does grocery shopping have to do with survival. The human race has totally redefined the animal meaning of survival. To survive, we need a few basic things.... food, habitat, water. To get these things, we need to buy them; exchange them for money, in other words, we need money to get these things. In order to get money, we work. We have jobs. Everyday half the world starts its day by getting up and going to work. Now, if we didn't work, we wouldn't get money, if we didn't get some dough, we wouldn't be able to get our daily bread to survive. The thing is, work is a type of survival, without it, we won't survive. It has been money which has transformed animal survival into human survival. Survival is all about just staying alive, not necessarily enjoying. That is where the meaning of life changes. To survive the animal way means to hunt, sleep where you can and drink off lake. To survive the human way means to work hard all your life to make money and get the three essentials, leaving not much room for enjoyment. And to live means to work hard, enjoy and make your days worth living. Survival itself is pretty hard, adding enjoyment to it makes even more hard. And that's what all of us try to do everyday, may we pass or fail, have fun or not, this is one thing no one will give up on so easily. Surviving is fulfilling your basic needs, living is fulfilling your wants as well as your needs.
Animal's list of things to do everyday:
- Get up.
- Survive.
- Go back to sleep.
A human's list of things to do everyday:
- Get up.
- Survive and have fun.
- Go back to sleep.
Crumpled Paper
As often as the week ends, we sometimes come across a thought that we want to get rid of, we want to keep it out of our mind. But as hard as we try, somehow that thought just finds its way back into our thoughts.
But there is a way you can, I like to call it, Crumpled paper therapy. Here's how you do it,
Think of the unwanted thought and imagine it on a piece of paper, in picture form or word form anyway you prefer. Then imagine it getting crumbled into a small paper ball. Use your imagination and destroy that piece of paper. For example, I want to get rid of the thought that I accidentally broke my favorite vase. I'd imagine the broken vase drawn on the paper. Then I would see that paper getting crumpled. I would take the crumpled ball and throw it into a river and the ball will get washed away in the river. Then the ball will flow into the ocean and get eaten by a fish and in turn that fish will get eaten by another one until it gets eaten by a shark. That shark will get fished out by a fisherman and sold in the market for money, they'll make meat out of it, someone will eat that meat and finally that crumpled piece of paper with your unwanted thought will be in the stomach of a fortunate person.
If you want, you can be practical. You can actually write the thought down on a piece of paper, crumple it and do anything with it, flush it down the toilet, light it on fire throw it into the yonder.... anything not too dangerous! It some times feels good to crumple paper. Especially with that thought on it.

Cat and Dog Leaves
Cats and dogs are the most common pets people have. Everyone loves them! Sometimes while describing situations, it can serve suitable to take the examples of cats and dogs (and sometimes mice). It can help to understand the situation better, and even find a solution....
- Just because a the cat barked like a dog, doesn't mean that it is a dog.
- Don't obsess the cat with yarn, it makes a mess later on.
- Being with the mouse is better than being between the cat and the dog.
- A dog can't understand cat's talk so easily.
- Give the dog a good name, he will live up to it.
- If the dog barks, he scares the cat.
- The cat has been at the milk without anybody's acknowledgement.
- A dog can't understand cat's talk so easily.
- Cats and dogs seldom get tired fighting. They always find an excuse to fight on.
- Mice like it when cats and dogs fight.
- Take the dog's bone, blackmail him to catch the cat for two bones, that will keep the dog from barking.
- Cats will never stop complaining on barking dogs.
- A dog won't see its own tail unless you make it itch.
- A dog pisses on a man and but the cat gets blamed for doing nothing.
