I Wonder Why It Is This Way....

The skies so blue, the trees so green;
The wind so pleasant, can't be seen;
There's sunrise, sunset everyday,
I wonder why it is this way....

Every monsoon, rain comes with clouds,
Lightning flashes, thunder is loud;
Winter's cold, hot summer's in May,
I wonder why it is this way....

What fun to learn, what fun to write,
Reading a book, a rare delight,
As I have work while others play,
I wonder why it is this way....

I work and slog, my hands get numb,
The noisy engine makes me dumb!
Damp air, no break and meagre pay,
I wonder why it is this way....

Angry grown-ups at me they shout,
They call me names, "You foolish lout!"
"You're good for nothing brat!" they say,
I wonder why it is this way....

I work they don't — it's just not fair,
No help, no feelings, don't they care?
They have no heart, just rock and clay!
I wonder why it is this way....

I was born poor, my fault they said,
I've to earn my butter and bread,
What wrong I've done, there's such dismay,
I wonder why it is this way....

A seed at once, cannot give fruit,
It needs the time to grow, take root,
Give it the love, the care to nourish,
It'll give sweet fruit and surely flourish!

Do the nation a favour,
Help stop child labour!

We Are The Indian Soldiers!

'Service before self' is our motto,
No enemy can chip our shoulders,
Discipline is our middle name,
We are the Indian soldiers!

No wind, no storm, no snow exists,
Nor mountains, valleys, boulders,
Nothing defeats our pure will,
We are the Indian Soldiers!

Mother India's sons we are,
Of Truth we're proud upholders,
Our blood replete of Her Heritage,
We are the Indian Soldiers!

How better can we ever live,
Than serving our sisters and brothers,
Thinking always of their goodness,
We Are The Indians Soldiers!

A Walk in Heaven

Exams in mind; alone I walk,
No soul in sight; no one to talk,
Befell upon me bliss, indeed,
'Twas heaven aye, my stress it freed.

A long and empty road infront,
Serene it seemed. I wasn't as blunt
As was before on prior days,
Exceeded mirth, though on today's.

By shadows o'trees was striped the road,
That climb'd a bit. I slowly strode
To see the path approach a hole,
Across which cars and buses roll'd.

The hole was made of limbs of trees,
Behind which rose a buildin'. One sees
And sees ~ from whither towers it?
From yonder grows! post thinkin' a bit.

And all along the birds did sing,
T'the afternoon a verve did bring.
The trees just stood there holdin' the sky;
Beside the road there, they did lie.

Accompanied with apts and homes,
In harmony they stood as gnomes
Amongst the florae in a truce
And far from din, were all recluse.

A joy in mind; alone I walk,
A play in sight; no one to talk,
Befell upon me bliss, indeed,
'Twas heaven aye, my stress it freed!

A pen with no ink is useless; similarly, talent alone is of no use without inspiration.

The moon, receiving light from the sun, is adorned with luster; likewise, a child obtaining knowledge from a teacher is adorned by knowledge.

A person, if overtly praised, may pay more attention towards his good traits. As a result, he would ignore his bad traits and it will become impossible to get rid of them. Therefore, one should praise within a limit.

The sun rises every single day. Can anyone check the sun from spreading light? It is this diligent, devoted and determined sun who is our ideal.

This verse is a riddle. What is a wealthy man known by? By what does a king or a leader become powerful? With what can knowledge not be obtained? The answer is in the riddle itself. (The first letter of the first question, the first letter of the second and the first letter of the third together make the answer. ध-ने-न that is, by money.)

This verse is also a riddle. What is found in a royal treasury? What decides the value of an object? What does a pauper beg of? The answer is quite simple. (The answer is: money.)

Even though a cloud in front of the sun, casts a shadow, it cannot hide the brilliance of the sun entirely; even if falsehood is spoken in front of truth, it will not conceal the truth completely.

Mercy, bravery, love, humour, marvel, horror, detestation, peace and anger are the nine sentiments.

Oh my! Where within you, sun, can laziness be found? Seeing your diligence everyday, I remain motivated.

The moon, who obtaining light from the sun shines; who shows the direction of the sun; who gives the credit of his own brilliance to the sun; is truly the grateful, humble and ideal disciple of his guru, the sun.

Sans a Spark

A poet sans a spark to write, compose,
As if a pen without its ink to jot
Is useless; talent is reduced to naught,
No matter how much skill one has it's froze.
He, wherein, ponders, "Where's it gone? Suppose
The candle has been doused      it e'er cannot."
Denying so, he thinks again what clots
The mind. He knows it now just what he owes.
Indebted he's to that, from where inspir'd,
His pride abated, findin' himself mundane,
To kindle minds of men, no spark afire,
And then one day a spark is set aflame!
The Lord, he thanks for all his love and grace,
Galore are sparks, the poet shall embrace!

Ode to Thee

About to sleep was I that night,
Thought not yet tired I need'd shut-eye,
When filled at once a sudden light,
Conceiving Thee I glorify.

Of stitched warm fondness ~ quite a shawl,
As endless, flawless like the sky,
One shielding evil, protecting all,
Conceiving Thee I glorify.

By seein' such grace I start to laugh,
Upon the bed in awe I lie,
An idol seemed a mere cenotaph,
Conceiving Thee I glorify.

Thy energy so widely spread,
It shan't abate intensify,
So aye expand'd, wherever tread,
Conceiving Thee I glorify.

Unfolds a truth so beauteous,
A theist couldn't of helped but cry,
Rallyin' conduct so righteous,
Conceiving Thee I glorify.

Subsists within me energy,
In everything does underlie,
In all the souls, loci to be,
Conceiving Thee I glorify.

Oneself's reflection everywhere,
This bliss, one's life will beautify,
Inspiring one to love and care,
Conceiving Thee I glorify.

The truth shall I forever hold,
That Thou art that outside, inside,
Which alchemizes one to gold,
Conceiving Thee I glorified.
