Bridges and Gaps

Every time you meet a new person, there stays a gap between you two, a gap of differences. But as the both of you get to know each other better, you might also find similarities that both of you share, which reduces the gap inch-by-inch. It goes on reducing until it reaches its minimum. It is from there the bridge of trust takes over and bridges even the biggest gap or the smallest gap. This bridge is very strong, yet can fall at the weakness of a loose screw. Once fallen, though rebuilt, it can never be the same again. But once you've replenished that gap, you and your partner are bound to have a successful relationship. Whenever I come across an acquaintance, I always try to reduce this gap, and if that seems like getting a man on mars, I just start building that bridge.

How to exit a class...

Out of the stupidest things you could learn from your friends, one thing I learned from mine was how to exit a class. As simple as it may seem, exiting a class isn't just about walking right out thru the door, its abt exiting with an attitude or an impression. Now say you're one of those students who is a 'no-body' to the teacher. The teacher doesn't know your name, he/she doesn't know if your studious or not and you feel that one seldom wrong mishap in front of him/her can label you for a cheaper price less than what your actually worth. Here's where exiting the class can come in handy. As you head for the door you might as well take a detour that will enable you to pass the teacher or his/her desk. Then, just when you think he's/she's not to busy, just pop up a topic related to what was going on in the class. It could be a comment, doubt, doubt-cum-answer or whatever. In my case, my friend mentioned about a game he was designing which involved an amoeba. Since we were learning about living things (which included amoeba), it was quite a good way start an 'exiting conversation.' Our teacher seemed quite interested and later even asked if she could pay us a visit the next time we had our computer period. Sometimes it can be hard to think of a pop-up topic, in that case you can aim for something on the teacher's desk, like a something-that-wasn't-there-before or maybe even a picture of some animal on the page of an open book. After about a minute of that, we had to go to our next class, and just as we were, I remember my friend saying to me, "And that is how you exit a class."

A Tree

Positivity and negativity often remind me of a tree. Whenever I take a look at a tree, the greenery of the leaves predominates the rest of the brown dull bark, just like positivity predominating negativity. But at times, its negativity that seems to dominate our positive side. The leaves may be ample, but the bark has all the weight which can make it heavy and even painful to bear. But there are always those green leaves which convey the impression of bringing life and joy to the dull bark. See the green leaves no matter how heavy the bark may be, witness it's pleasure and ignore the burden of the dull bark as if it wasn't even there.
