It was the start of a new day in new a school. Our bus was headed toward a tall hill beside the road, on which the school sat upon. I was sitting in the window seat at the back of the bus, looking at the scenic view from the hill. The city spread out till some point, and after that, the mountains took over the landscape. As my eyes gazed through the mountains, left to right, I noticed a familiar figure in the distance. It was some sort of a fort. A fort I was sure I had never seen in my life. I looked at it for a while, and then somehow, something in my mind told me that the the name of that fort was Sinhagad. It was just a mere thought, so I didn't really think much of it. Later I got a chance to ask an acquaintance what the name of that fort was. Without further delay, he immediately answered "Sinhagad," which left me shocked. I already knew, any fort with the name 'gad' in it meant that it was the great Shivaji Maharaja who had built it. I later heard of a saying, "शिवाजी महाराज आपुल्या जनतेच्या मनात राहतात," which meant: Shivaji Maharaja lives in the hearts of his people. It may seem just some old saying to many people, but to me, it means something. Because I have experienced the true meaning to this saying, at that first sight I had, when I saw his Majesty's fort, Sinhagad.
