Memories

A lucky girl, Ashley got to meet the famous actress, Milly Cryptus. She had won a lucky draw she had signed up for about a month ago. As per the plan, Ashley went to meet her and both of them spent the day together. Of course, Ashley brought her camera to take pictures of this once-in-a-lifetime-chance. She went home smiling like never before. A few months passed after this incident. Ashley's room was full of the pictures she had taken that day with the actress. She went to every concert Milly hosted. She got her room painted Milly's favorite color. That day she spent with Milly was embedded into her memories forever. But that wasn't the case with Milly. Just a week after meeting Ashley, Milly completely forgot about the incident. It was as if she hadn't met anyone at all. Ashley had given a few copies of the pictures she had took to her, but where were those picture just one week later? Buried deep inside a closet full of other things.
Importance given to memories based on incidents depend on how rare the incident may occur and also on how much of a good-named place or person the incident is involving. As Ashley won the lucky draw, the incident that occurred was quite a rare event, and so it found a significant place in her memory. What if Ashley was to win a lucky draw where she would be meeting a football player, in which she had no interest in meeting? It would still become a memory, cause winning a lucky draw isn't something that happens every day, but the memory won't be too significant as compared to meeting Milly. What if Ashley was Milly's sister, someone she would meet everyday? Having one the lucky draw, it won't be of much importance to her and nor will the memory, cause come on.... if you won a lucky draw to meet your sister, I don't think it would be a-once-in-a-lifetime chance to cherish the memory of it!
